Welcome!

Hello and Welcome!

Angie Walker LMHC ACS

Hello, my name is Angie Walker and I am a born and raised fourth generation Floridian.  I live on a hobby farm in Martin County with my husband, our three children and many beloved 4 legged family members.  I have had the privilege of working in the field for over a decade and being mentored and supervised by talented and seasoned clinicians that all infused and contributed unique pieces to my integrative therapeutic approach. I have a thirst for knowledge and am fascinated by neuroscience which drives me to continue to enrich my understanding of the magnificence of the human brain and psychology. My specialty is working with individuals and families to overcome the effects of family dysfunction and trauma through a process of healing from the inside out. One of my frequently said quotes in session is “feelings buried alive, never die.” Through providing a safe, supported and trusting environment clients are able to tolerate, express and process buried emotions and experience a sense of catharsis. I am a proponent of resolving emotional and mental struggles by providing informative education to my clients on the mind and body connection, insecure attachments and trauma wounds and then creating a path to wellness that is unique to the individuals goals. Individuals and families are able to break the repetitive and destructive patterns of behaviors and support a process of healing and wellness. I truly value holding a calm, trusting and safe space for my clients to complete therapeutic work and consider it a privilege to serve each of them in their journeys of discovery, change and healing.

My educational background…..

I hold a Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from Regent University and a Master's of Science (MS) in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I have earned and maintain membership in the International Psychology Honor Society, Psi Chi.  I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Florida, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia, a Qualified Clinical Supervisor in the State of Florida and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) through the National Board for Clinical Counselors. I received certification through Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, EAGALA, in mental health. Additionally, I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapist specializing in treating (complex) trauma C-PTSD, PTSD, anxiety, childhood and relational trauma, narcissistic abuse as well as performance enhancement.

I am a trauma specialist in Florida and Georgia and an expert in the field in treating (complex) trauma C-PTSD, PTSD as well as birth trauma, substance abuse, codependency, anxiety, relationship and intimacy issues and attachments.

I have adopted an integrative therapy approach to psychotherapy. This means that I believe there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations and value individual interests and needs as well as personal circumstances. My approach is solution focused utilizing a combination of therapeutic modalities including inner child work, attachment theory, reparenting, Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, parts work and somatic mind body techniques to tailor therapy to support the individual client’s treatment goals.
